The name “Morpho” is derived from the Greek word “Morphō “, meaning “the Shapely One” and is the name of Greek goddess of beauty Aphrodite. Unlike most other Morpho species, M. polyphemus luna is white rather than blue. It can be found in Central and South America. 

A Morpho polyphemus luna butterfly specimen in a premium open grain wooden frame. The scientific and common names are printed on acid free card and the frame is sealed with silicone to keep the specimens safe from hungry museum beetles and other such pests. The specimen is slightly discounted for lacking antennae as pictured. 

Care & Maintenance

Keep out of direct sunlight and high humidity. You can wipe the frames clean with a dry cloth but be careful; they are delicate!
